The DataMIL Catalog: Data and Services for the Delaware Spatial Data Framework
The Delaware DataMIL will no longer be available after June 30, 2013.
The Delaware DataMIL is an online web application that provides accurate, up-to-date topographic maps for Delaware. Unfortunately, the DataMIL currently relies on aging software and hardware that has become increasingly difficult to maintain, and unstable, which has led to a rising number of service disruptions. In anticipation of the loss of personnel and funding necessary to maintain the software and hardware systems that support DataMIL, the Delaware DataMIL in its current form will no longer be available after June 30, 2013. Users should also be aware that an unforeseen fatal system failure could cause the DataMIL service to expire prior to this date. Please note that by accessing the State of Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI), users can still access Delaware Spatial Data Framework layers through the Delaware Geospatial Data Exchange, which can be accessed at https://dataexchange.gis.delaware.gov/. Users can access the downloadable aerial photography tiles through the University of Delaware's Delaware Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Center (DEMAC) at http://demac.udel.edu/tiles/. The Delaware Geological Survey realizes the importance of providing an up-to-date, high quality topographic map service, and we will endeavor to explore opportunities with our current resources to create a web application that will enable users to create, view, and print up-to-date topographic base maps of Delaware, along with USGS-style quadrangle maps for download as PDF products. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause the DataMIL user community. |
